Bob has extensive experience in assisting clients with developing, managing and monetizing their intellectual property assets, including matters relating to patentable technologies, trade secrets and brands for clients in the e-commerce, financial services, computer software, communications, biotech, automotive, manufacturing, oil and gas industries. He has deep expertise working with clients to identify notable commercial features in their products and then to draft suitable patent applications that properly focus on those features. Prior to his law career, he has worked for a major international computer company, a medical device company and an international stereo equipment company.
Bob has provided advice in developing, exploiting and managing world-wide patent portfolios for an international electronics communications systems manufacturer and a major Canadian communication device manufacturer. He has provided advice in developing and managing world-wide trademark portfolios for a major Canadian lumber supplier and an international charity related to a chronic disease.

Bob has been a panel member on several presentations relating to protecting inventions through patents, the state of business method patents in the world and IP strategies for new product and service deployments.
Bob has been a tutor for patent drafting sessions at the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada (IPIC) at the IPIC/McGill summer patent courses.
